Visage - Datsu-Ikidouri Circle (脱・憤りサークル) (2003)

31.08.2015
"Hysteric Media Zone IV Omnibus", 2003. Visage formed in 2001. Throughout 2002, the newly formed group released an impressive total of five demos and one single, "Egoist Shoukougun (エゴイスト症候群)", which was limited to 500 copies, and soon sold out. Visage were immediately on their way to the top, although by early 2003, already replaced two bassists in their lifetime. Despite this, Visage refused to slow down, and released three more demos throughout 2003, appeared on the "Hysteric Media Zone IV" omnibus and released their second single, "Haitoku no Susume (背徳のススメ )", that May. The group were quickly developing a huge following in the visual underground for their demented alternative metal-based style, although by the summer of 2003, the third bassist of Visage, Yukiya, left, and was immediately replaced by Saga (沙我). After only a few months, Saga left as well, and was then replaced by Ryo (凌), and Visage then returned with a vengeance with the release of their first mini-album, "Reversal Film", in January of 2004. The album was a huge hit in the visual underground, although the group soon hit another bump in the road when original drummer Takuto left. He was then replaced by Manabu (学), and the group continued to tour extensively, and released their third single, "Dekiai (溺愛)", in May of 2004. Despite their huge following, Visage decided to disband by the end of 2004, at the height of their indies fame. Manabu went on to temporarily become a support drummer for the legendary visual band Ayabie (彩冷える), although he soon left and then retired from the visual scene. One of the guitarists of Visage, Ryouki (伶希), went on to join the popular visual band KuRt, until its disbandment in 2007. He then went on to join two more visual bands, The Jean and Otogashi (音画死), both of which lasted only a few months. Ryouki then joined one last visual band, Otogadead (オトガデッド), until eventually departing from them as well. After he left Otogadead, Ryouki then retired from the visual scene as well. The frontman of Visage, Hiro (緋絽), joined the moderately popular visual band Gossip, which also folded in 2008. After Gossip disbanded, Hiro joined the indies band 7addict, which also split in 2013. Afterwards, Hiro formed the visual band Project Varyl (ヴァリル), which soon changed its name simply to Varyl, and the group is still active today.
