This one includes watches from some of the most historically significant, and respected names in the watch world. Here are some of Christian’s thoughts on Andy’s collection… IWC Portofino : It’s not perfect - the size, spacey dial, and price are some drawbacks - but it has one hell of a story. This IWC is the first MECHANICAL watch Andy owned. It’s also the watch he was gifted on his wedding day. This Portofino, despite its minor issues, is one hell of a watch for Andy. OMEGA SPEEDMASTER Broad Arrow Re-Issue : It’s beautiful. But it doesn’t get much wrist time because of its size. For that reason alone, compelled further by its price, this Omega Speedmaster should go. IWC MARK XVI : Andy go this IWC for a steal! It has beauty, history, versatility going for it and it gets LOTS of wrist time. JLC REVERSO GRANDE 976 : Display caseback, supremacy of the movement and construction and history. This watch doesn’t stop! But, because it’s not comfortable, it doesn’t see the wrist very often. ROLEX SUBMARINER 14060 :Changed Andy’s collecting career. He no longer sees Rolex as a purely “status” brand and realizes there may be merit to all of the hype. He starts with this solid Sub foundation - it’s a real tool watch. ROLEX GMT MASTER 16700 : It’s pepsi, complicated, thinner than its predecessors, and fueled with history. There are no frills. The Rolex GMT Master doesn’t need any. ROLEX DAY-DATE 1803 WIDEBOY :It’s yellow gold with a champagne dial. It’s the ultimate - the obvious - the “status” watch. But guess what, it’s a layup for a reason. Christian’s suggestion?
