April 4th marks the 14th anniversary for Oncology Nursing Day, and the theme this year “The Path to Change: Oncology Nurses Leading the Way”, highlights your integral role in influencing and leading change in our complex health care environments. As oncology nurses, every day you provide unwavering support, compassion and care for your patients; while also campaigning, advocating and promoting for resources to meet the challenging needs of the cancer care system. You are at the heart of cancer care, and today especially we would like to thank you. Thank you for the smile, the kind touch and the comforting hand you provide. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to education, research and leadership to give voice to the needs of the oncology community. Thank you for the missed holiday dinners, family events, birthday parties and anniversaries; to care for another’s loved one. Thank you for your selflessness.
