Units 3 and 4 of the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, which was jointly built by China and Russia, are currently under construction in Lianyungang, east China’s Jiangsu Province. As a key figure in the construction of this huge project, Wei Xiaopeng is one of the men responsible for welding the primary conduit. To prevent any risk of a nuclear radiation leak, this job needs world-class technical skills. Meanwhile, long-term stamina is also needed, as most of Wei’s time working on the conduit is spent in a space with a diameter of only 90cm. Despite the difficulties facing him, Wei maintains a high-standard of welding to guarantee the safety of the nuclear power plant.
