Tap Water Rain Water TDS Test HD
OrgonArt TDS meter "non-scientific" test of Total Dissolved Solids [PPM - parts per million] in tap water - bottled water - distilled water and rain water ... I am a Tech Geek .. and I like to use and test technology in new and different ways. In this video I use a TDS meter to measure Total Dissolved Solids in tap water / rain water / distilled water - parts per million [PPM]. Distilled water can have a TDS reading of 1-3 PPM Local tap water had a TDS reading of 300 PPM. Total dissolved solids (TDS) meters are used to analyze the purity of fresh water. TDS meters detects "totally charged ions" in water. A TDS meter measures the electrical conductivity of water. Pure H20 has almost zero conductivity. Dissolved solids in water can range from organic and inorganic materials .. sewage .. fertilizers .. pesticides .. lead or copper from pipes. When TDS levels exceed 1000mg/L it is generally considered unfit for human consumption. Local tap water [unfiltered] = 300 PPM Tap water filtered [charcoal] = 187 PPM Bottled water = 652 PPM Distilled water = 1 PPM / 3 PPM Colloidal silver from distilled water = 18 PPM Rainwater roadside concrete = 37 PPM Rainwater roadside asphalt = 36 PPM Water fountain [pipes] = 294 PPM In future videos I will test dirty muddy rainwater and will try to catch rainwater in a clean glass bowl !! However .. the recent fresh heavy rainfall found in puddles at the side of the road and on the walkways [uncontaminated by mud] had readings of 36 / 37 PPM. The local water transported though pipes as tap water had readings of 300 PPM .. and the most popular bottled water had a PPM reading of 650 !!
