The odds for finding a shiny using this method without the charm and on a chain of 40 is 1/200. This method requires A LOT of PATIENCE. To teach you how to chain, is basically teaching you patience but I will try my best to make a tutorial. You need to encounter the same Pokemon 40 times to increase your chances to find a shiny Pokemon using only text book patches. If you have loud music, your chances are increased. Good Luck!
