The Taming of the Shrew Trailer HD

Taming of the Shrew is a popular comedy written by William Shakespeare. It is about a Lord who comes upon a drunk Christopher Sly and decides to deceive Sly into believing that he is actually the Lord of a wealthy household by dressing him in the finest clothes, having his servants serve him, and by employing two players to entertain Sly with a play. In this play, there are two sisters who are both wanting to wed. Bianca, a fair young lady, has many suitors, but none may marry her until her older sister, Katherine, also known as a shrew among the townsfolk, is wed. In order to marry Bianca, one of Bianca’s suitors sets out to find a man who is willing to take on a shrew as a wife. Such a man is found by the name of Petruchio, and he is quite the match for Katherine. The play unfurls the love story of Katherine and Petruchio, as well as that of Bianca and her suitors, in a fun and comedic battle of wits. This show runs on June 3rd at 2:00pm AND 7:00pm & June 4th at 2:00pm in the Verona Area High School PAC. Tickets will be $5 for students & children and $7 for adults. We hope to see you there!
