James Walker, Director of Information Technology at Oregon Shakespeare Festival presents his talk “Agile Methodology: Adaptive, Collaborative & Evolutionary” in this Innovator Series video from http://www.tessituranetwork.com. Agile Methodology for software development is a flexible, iterative project approach to product development that is wildly popular in the technology world today. Did you know that Agile philosophy and tools can be applied to everyday business, too? In this talk, James will look at real world examples of how Agile can work throughout our arts and cultural organizations. As the Director of Information Technology at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland Oregon, James puts his skills as an arts IT leader to the test helping to produce world class theatre in a highly collaborative environment. In a time of incredible technological disruption, collapsing silos and increasing pace of change, IT is being forced to be an agile business leader. James’ unique perspective in his role rises out of a convergence of extensive experience in marketing, fundraising and box office management with software development, digital media, analytics and business analysis at a variety of technology and arts organizations. He was also a founding member of the Tessitura Member Advisory Committee and is a frequent presenter and panelist. In addition, James is the founder and manager of the “Tessiturians” where he has fun applying agile techniques to rock bands.
