A man, the main character, decides to take action for his people to lift them from their curse. Finding the source of the evil at a mercenary stronghold planning a second war, the main character infiltrates it and draws arms against its powerful leader. Not knowing the protagonist to be a denizen from the abyss, the main character gets his soul slaughtered, leaving him wandering the Deadlands, a place for mortal beings without souls, without further purpose. But the council senses that there’s a different essence in this one and decides to reimbue him with powers, returning him to the surface world as a vessel of good to march against the darkness. The second war of the Ravenfields takes place and this time, with the main character at their command, the good forces stand strongest but the demon lord is nowhere to be found. Roaming the surface world without his soul and sensing a strange connection to his demon assailant and that his purpose is truly amiss, the main character gets greeted by a courier from the abyss who offers his soul back in exchange for a ruling seat among the armies of the dark. The main character, an angel without its lost soul, is obliged to accept. Finally waking up in a cold, adorned room he is greeted by his forefather, the very same demon lord, who proclaims the prophecy that after thousands and thousands of years, a strong soul from his lineage would embark to have a ruling seat in the throne of hell. As emperor, as sovereign, as king… To rule as a true denizen of the dark, oathed to forever carry the command out.
