WHAT IF ANDROMEDA COLLIDED WITH MILKY WAY GALAXY HD
Andromeda Galaxy. Little faded cloud on the night sky is actually the enormous galaxy, by dozen times bigger than our own one. Milky Way. It’s located two and half million light years away from us. And humanity already plan to send satellites towards it in the near future, in order to find life there. Maybe we shouldn’t hurry too much, because Andromeda Galaxy will come to us itself soon. How soon? In about 4 billion years. The thing is Andromeda and Milky Way are moving towards each other at the speed of one hundred twenty miles a second. Even though, universe continues to grow, according to Big Band Theory and destination between galaxies is just unimaginable, scientists believe, that despite everything, these two galaxies will eventually collide. More likely we wont live long enough to witness this historic occasion. However, computer modelling of this event allow us to predict what will earthlings see and experience during Milky Way collision will Andromeda. There will be something outstanding happening in the sky. Andromeda cloud will come in closer and closer. It’s spiral arms will be visible to the naked eye. In time this sight of immense beauty would fill up half the sky, stars will look more and more clearer. Eventually Andromeda will full up whole visible space of the sky. Over the hundreds of thousand years people will witness incredible things in the sky, it will shine with bright colors and stars with whole constellations will constantly move. But don’t be upset, that you will miss such beauty. In 4 billion years destiny of humanity will be very unfortunate. I guess you imagined that stars and planets of Andromeda will start to collide with planets of our Galaxy and go to pieces turning into stardust. Fortunately, that won’t happen at all. Cosmic objects are placed with huge distances from each other, and probability that some of their paths will cross and they will collide is practically equal to zero.
