Antak WIP Reel HD

Realised I had about 20 or so WIP shots of one of my pictures lying around, so I decided to make a small montage of the various stages of this thing. I think its a bit drawn out but I really liked the song and it lined up fairly well with the length it got to. This character is Antak Koadamee, my Halo fancharacter being coloured in Photoshop CS3 and the song is "The Voyage" by Sebastian Komor. This is basically here in case anyone cares enough to look at the process I go through making something like this. 1. Pencil Sketch 2. Flat colours done with lasso, paint bucket and paint brush 3. Base layer shading for black and blue armour parts 4. First run at shading the carbine 5. Shaded face, added eye, shaded carbine barrel, started shading hand 6. Lighting on helmet and hand 7. Detail on helmet 8. Shaded pauldron, re-did carbine drum-mag 9. Shaded forearm, re-did carbine barrel 10. Began shading chest, added lights 11. Lighting on collar, re-did carbine stock, shading on waist-piece, added detail to carbine mag 12. Shading on upper legs 13. Reshape leg armour, shaded forearm 14. Reshaped collar and pauldron 15. Shaded chest and pauldron 16. Lighting on black armour, shaded bodysuit 17. Corrected elbow, filled in knee 18. Detailed legs and armour, added knives, added bayonet mount to carbine 19. First background layers, lighting 20. Sparks, background shapes, vapour trails 21. Explosion lighting, bridge prototype 22. Overpass redone, cooling stacks added 23.
