US Navy Ticonderoga AEGIS cruiser in 1/350 scale HD
This is a video of two 1/350 scale US Navy Ticonderoga Cruisers. Their full load displacement is about 10.500 tons and they have been built to perform command and control functions for the defense of US Navy task forces...carrier strike groups, Amphibious Ready Groups, Amphibious Expeditionary Units, Surface Action Groups, or any other groups of warships the US Navy send out onto the Oceans and seas of the world. They carry 128 VLS (Vertical Launch System) cells for missiles in two Mk-41 64 cell launchers, one forward and one aft as you can see. They also carry two 127 mm dual purpose rapid fire main guns, two 20 mm Phalanx CIWS, two 25 mm Mark 2 automated guns, two quad canisters for launching 8 Harpoon ASMs (or later, like the new Joint Strike Missile which will be outfitted on the LCS and FFG(X) vessels), and have a helicopter hanger and landing deck for two Sea Hawk (MM-60H or MM-60R) medium sized helicopters.large helicopter. This allows these vessels to continuously prosecute submarine contacts without having to send their single helicopter back to either refuel or rearm in order to continue prosecution of an enemy submarine. They would simply rotate the two helicopters onto the target until it was either destroyed or surrendered.
