This Is Starting To Get Ugly For Julius Randle HD

Julius Randle and New York City have had a problem...and as a Knicks fan, things aren’t looking good. #Randle #NewYork #NBA Gaming/Streaming- @MJPLAYSALLDAY Twitter- @MJ2KALLDAY Now Julius Randle signed a 4 year $117 million extension this offseason. He was efficient, he was making great passes, strong. He caught the league by storm, 6’ 8” 250 pounds. He’s averaging 19.6 points, 10.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists which doesn’t seem terrible until you realize he’s shooting 42% from the field, 30.1% from 3, can’t create a lick of space, is horrible in the clutch shooting 37% from the field, it’s been bad, real bad. Except the passing, the passing been solid. And the Knicks have followed. 25-33, 12th in the East, with a schedule like this coming up. Along with all the losses have come boos, Randle telling fans to f off, and trade rumors. The frustration is coming out. The Knicks be giving Julius Randle the ball on the left wing, but, they be giving him the ball there over and over and over again, expecting him to get by his defender and finish or step back. But Randle has been unable to drive by defenders and unable to make midranges. He’s shooting 34% from midranges, still shooting shots like this. Shot selection is horrible Randle wasn’t particularly good at posting up last season, getting 0.93 points per possession and being in the 46th percentile. This season, he’s even worse, 0.69 points per possession and in the 11th percentile in the league. And a lot of times, Randle just doesn’t seem into it. Like deadass, the effort doesn’t seem there. Last year was his contract year, but even on the Pelicans, he averaged 21.4 points and 9 boards. It was the playmaking and 3 point shooting that took him to the next level. He led the league in minutes last year and he’s playing high minutes this year. And the thing is, the Knicks knew what Randle had done in the playoffs last year. If you didn’t, here’s a summary. The Knicks were embarrassed and at the center of that was Julius Randle. The most improved player of the year, the all-star, averaged 18 points on 29.8% from the field. The Knicks are still one of the most valuable franchises in the league despite being ass for years. In fact, they have only made the playoffs 4 times in the past 10 years and won 1 round in total. New York City was buzzing with excitement. The first playoffs in 6 years. So when your clear #1 player pretty much lays an egg in the playoffs including going 2 of 15, fans weren’t happy. As Knicks fans, we’re used to disappointment so we didn’t turn against the team, more like happy to be here.** But I was always of the mindset that the Hawks treated him like a star and he just wasn’t ready for that attention. He had been used to mismatches, players not being quick enough or not strong enough and Randle could take them where he wanted on the court. Fair enough. Next season, he would be ready, next season he would know how to deal with double teams, pass out of them, how to pic
