Swans V Hawks Round 9 2016 (Full Game)

This match started very differently to previous games between these two teams. Though the commentary seemed to believe both teams were uncertain and trying to be patient, from my perspective the Swans knew exactly what they were doing, choosing a more defensive role, specifically negating the standard play of the Hawks. As the game progressed through the first half, it was working all too well, leaving Hawthorn with some work to be done. In the third quarter the Hawks threw everything at the Swans but though they reeled back the score, the Swans were still defending brilliantly and time would see Sydney still in front even if by a smaller margin. The last quarter was tight to say the least but the Swans stars, in spite of the Hawks pressure, held firm and immovable. With the brilliance of Buddy and a great goal to ease the pressure by Zac Jones, Sydney kicked away, stealing the presumed thunder in the Hawks home territory. Congratulations to the awesome Nick Smith on his 150th game as a true Blood.
