Poem name is lab pe ati hai dua لب پہ آتی ہے دُعا بن کے تمنّا میری My longing comes to my lips as supplication of mine زندگی شمع کی صورت ہو خدایا میری O God! May like the candle be the life of mine! دُور دنیا کا مرے دَم سے اندھیرا ہو جائے May the world’s darkness disappear through the life of mine! ہر جگہ میرے چمکنے سے اُجالا ہو جائے May every place light up with the sparkling light of mine! ہو مرے دَم سے یونہی میرے وطن کی زینت May my homeland through me attain elegance جس طرح پھُول سے ہوتی ہے چمن کی زینت As the garden through flowers attains elegance زندگی ہو مری پروانے کی صورت یا رب May my life like that of the moth be, O Lord! عِلم کی شمع سے ہو مجھ کو محبت یا رب! May I love the lamp of knowledge, O Lord! ہو مرا کام غریبوں کی حمایت کرنا May supportive of the poor my life’s way be دردمندوں سے، ضعیفوں سے محبت کرنا May loving the old, the suffering my way be مرے اللہ! بُرائی سے بچانا مجھ کو O God! Protect me from the evil ways نیک جو راہ ہو، اُس رہ پہ چلانا مجھ کو Show me the path leading to the good ways . . . . . Allama Muhammad Iqbal was a poet, philosopher and politician born in Sialkot, whose poetry in Urdu and Persian is considered to be among the greatest of the modern era. Allama Iqbal is known as Muffakir-e-Pakistan ("The Thinker of Pakistan"), Shair-e-Mashriq ("The Poet of the East"), and Hakeem-ul-Ummat ("The Sage of Ummah"). And recognized as the "national poet" of Pakistan. Allama Iqbal was highly influenced by his spirtual teacher Jalal ud din Rumi R.A .
