Smarty Pins - Free Google Maps Geography Game - Tutorial And Web Page Link HD
Smarty Pins is a free online Google Maps geography game from Google. It can be found at: http://smartypins.withgoogle.com/ A broadband connection is required to play the game. Here is the start screen of the game. The different categories include, as of this video: Featured Topics (The current ones are March Madness and World Cup Trivia) Arts & Culture Science & Geography Sports & Games Entertainment History & Current Events The "Start a new game" button on the start screen has mixed questions. The play is simple. The player starts with 1000 miles. There is a question to answer by placing the pin on the correct area of the map. Miles are subtracted based upon how many miles from the correct answer the pin was placed. If the pin is placed in a certain amount of time bonus miles are added. The game ends when the player reaches 0 or negative miles. Here are a few tips when playing. The map, given, has the correct answer someplace on it. It is better to select the city or area and go to the next question rather than zooming in, on the map, and trying to pinpoint the correct answer. Mostly, the correct city will take off 0 miles, at best, and a few miles, at worst, and the answer can be selected fast enough to get bonus miles. Zooming in on the map may cause the map to hang, while the new zoomed map is being downloaded, causing bonus miles to be lost. Also, zoomed in maps will subtract miles for sightly off pin placements, typically, subtracting more miles than selecting the city or area on the starting map. Other than that, it has interesting play and hopefully you will give Smarty Pins a try. This video was made by SchoolFreeware. http://www.SchoolFreeware.com
