2019 Honda Insight Release Date and Specs 2019 Honda Insight Rumors The Insight was a hybrid built by Honda in two different generations. The first was a two-door economy box while the second was a four-door hybrid which happened to be the cheapest car in its class. However, the car has been discontinued back in 2014 and replaced by other cars which are not only more efficient but also larger. Despite that it seems that there is demand for a rather small hybrid hatchback. Because of that rumors about a new 2019 Honda Insight started to surface and that rumors have been proved by the test mule which was spotted in the Europe. The 2019 Honda Insight is going to be based on Honda’s modular architecture which also underpins the new Civic. The car is expected to share its wheelbase and track width with the Honda’s model City but however, it will be slightly taller and longer. The end result should be a five-door fastback with more than enough room inside the cabin for 5 people. The car will likely feature the same suspension setup as its sibling. However, it is expected to get slightly smaller brakes and more than likely cheaper materials too. So far the car looked on par with Honda’s other vehicles, and it had a similar front end to the Accord of its day. The upcoming 2019 Honda Insight on the other hand will change that. It will boast a really slim set of headlights and roughly the same grille as that on the hydrogen-powered car. INTERIOR Do not expect anything too impressive about the upcoming Insight. Considering the car’s expected price, it is safe to assume it won’t stun its customers with the quality of the materials inside. However, it should still offer a more than adequate experience. In fact some suggested the car might have a similar interior layout to that of the Civic. The only real big difference would be the instrument cluster which may be installed on the center stack in the new Insight. 2019 HONDA INSIGHT SPECS In order to be successful the 2019 Honda Insight will have to be very fuel efficient. In order to do that the car will more than likely be powered by a hybrid system. Its predecessor used a 1.3 liter naturally aspirated mill and an electric motor. The combined output was just 98 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque. Even so it managed to do well in daily driving and that’s why people liked it. There are rumors that Honda is working on a new type of hybrid system. This would use a new generation 1.0 liter turbo-three which would be mated to a 15 to 20 horsepower electric motor. The end result will still be in the neighborhood of 100 horsepower but it should provide closer to 150 lb-ft of torque. This system will drive the front wheels via a CVT gearbox so the car should be capable of north of 55 MPG on average. This would allow it to get ahead of the competition but things are still uncertain at this point. RELEASE DATE AND PRICE If we take into consideration that this is only test mule and that Honda is in early stage
