Boomtown Rats The Rat Trap Radio Edit 1978

The original studio recording of this classic was banned from TV and radio because it had, what was considered in the dark old days of 1978, offensive lyrics. It would seem that words like "pus" and "scabs" were not acceptable. Therefore, in order to get this aired, another version, with those lyrics replaced, had to be produced. You could though actually purchase both versions from your favourite record store in the U.K. The French pressing (available in the U.K.) was the version which contained the offensive lyric, whilst the U.K. pressing was the edited "cleaner" version.
