Genetics & Inheritance: Autosomal Linkage | A-level Biology | OCR, AQA, Edexcel HD
https://goo.gl/31T06Y to unlock the full series of AS, A2 & A-level Biology videos created by A* students for the new OCR, AQA and Edexcel specification. In this video we’ll look at the inheritance process of autosomal linkage. We’ll see a pair of homologous chromosomes, maternal and paternal, and we’ll go through the meiosis phase and investigate the possible combinations. Then we’ll explain why the genes of the same chromosome tend to show up together in the same combinations in the offspring. Last, we’ll look at the case of crossing over and recombinant gametes and discuss the importance of chi-squared test in order to determine the reason for the variation of expected and observed frequencies.
