Les’yar – a poet and a musician, a person, who made a significant contribution to the poetry and music, a pioneer of Pagan Metal in Russia, is releasing a new CD named “Self Burning”. The CD has come into being due to participation of friends and comrades-in-arms – Oksana Melnik and Roman Arsafes who put a lot of their creative energy and personal efforts into this album. Oksana helped to Les’yar to develop the conception of an album, after giving her hand in completing it with her own thoughts and musical parts. Also she is an author of a track named “Bratsi” for which she wrote both music and lyrics. Roman on his part, became for Les’yar a co-composer and helped a lot with recording the most of the musical instruments. The whole bunch of talented musicians took part in the album recording, among them there were such names as Fyodor Vetrov (violin, viola) and Elena Kazakova (harp, flute). This work goes far beyond the frameworks of “ordinary music”, thus it would be a rough mistake to put on it a label of a musical album designed just for a trivial listening of music. All because, it’s all about refined poetry which you need to become utterly absorbed into, a kind of poetry which merges together with just astonishing musical illustrations. This lyrics goes about the acute social problems – social degradation and moral decay. The years pass by but the problems just grow bigger and become even more oddball and ugly. The only choice you have is ether to have your head in the sand, refusing to admit the very existence of these facts, or to face it all with your front and try to break it down inside your soul and your mind in order to prevent the final victory of dirt, blood and pain over the purity and nobleness. If to approach to a musical part of it, it cannot be limited with the certain frames, here you will find Ambient and Black Metal in the best spirit of Darkthrone, Folk and even Punk Rock...
