If you scout around a little bit, Alameda used to be the home of the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier. On a humorous note, in one Star Trek movie, the Enterprise crew break into the aircraft carrier Enterprise, stationed at Alameda. The real star of this video is the USS Hornet (CV-12), a decommissioned World War II aircraft carrier. Not only did this vessel serve proudly in WWII, but it also recovered the capsule of NASA Apollo 11 after returning home from the moon.
