Philippines shooting: gunman kills two Chinese diplomats in Cebu City - TomoNews HD

CEBU, PHILIPPINES — CNN Philippines reports that a group of Chinese diplomats were attending a birthday lunch at the Lighthouse restaurant in Cebu City, in the Philippines, around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday when a Chinese couple barged into the private dining room and open fire. According to the Sun Star Cebu, the man had a .45 calibre pistol and fired first on Consul General Song Ronghua and Deputy Consul General Sun Shan. When a female finance officer, identified as Hui Li, ran out of the room, the shooter followed and shot her in the head. Hui later died in the hospital. Both the consul general and his deputy were shot in the neck. The latter did not survive his wounds, according to BBC. The two suspects, Chinese nationals Li Qing Liang and his wife Guo Jing, were taken into custody by Cebu City police following the incident. Guo claims to work for the consulate and invoked diplomatic immunity, reports the Philippine Star.
