Low-Dose Immunotherapy (LDI) - Dr Karima Hirani
In this presentation, Dr. Hirani will describe LDI for autism. The treatment stems from low-dose allergen (LDA) therapy, which has been used in the UK and US for over 50 years. LDA is a safe and homeopathic treatment used to desensitize the immune system toward several hundred foods/chemicals/mold/inhalants and more. LDI is the brainchild of Dr. Ty Vincent, who has used homeopathic dilutions of various different killed strains of bacteria, yeast, viruses, and parasites. This work is only about 3 years old. While there is no formal research that has been done on it, Dr. Yehuda Schoenfeld in his book Infection and Autoimmunity shows us the research done looking at various different infections and their subsequent autoimmune aftermath. Rheumatic fever is a good example. Lyme disease, Epstein-Barr virus, cytomegalovirus, Strep, and even vaccines have been shown to cause autoimmune phenomenon. The purpose of LDI is to safely turn off the autoimmune attack that has ensued after the infection. Clinical experience thus far in autism has shown the following LDIs to be the most effective: Lyme, yeast, LDA, and Strep.
