Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko Fight is OFFICIAL ... Joshua vs Klitschko 30 MILLION showdown promoter Eddie Hearn revealed on Sunday that the deal between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko for their world heavyweight title fight “has been agreed” but the two camps were being “meticulous” in securing as many vacant belts for the bout, which has been scheduled for the Manchester on Dec 10. The £30 million showdown is to be formally announced this week, and will include a rematch clause, with Joshua’s International Boxing Federation crown, the lesser International Boxing Organisation title, and potentially the World Boxing Association belt - over which the two teams are still negotiating with the sanctioning body - the growing spoils for a contest in which the protagonists will share an estimated £15 million purse. The arena will hold 21,000 fans, with the contest set to be shown live in the UK on Sky Box Office. Klitschko, the world No 1 for almost a decade until he was beaten by the now exiled Tyson Fury last November, pits his wit and 68-fight experience against the Londoner 13 years his younger, who has knocked out 17 opponents and boxed only 41 rounds in a rapid rise to becoming world champion since winning Olympic super heavyweight gold in London in 2012. “It’s the young superstar of the division versus the guy who has really dominated,” said Hearn, who even admitted himself that this contest could be coming too early for Joshua. “Terms are virtually there,” added Hearn yesterday. “I just want to be meticulous that all the details and all the sanctioning bodies who are interested are on board, we do the poster and that is that. I don’t want to mess around changing details. The television side of it, with American TV, is complete now, too.” Last Wednesday, this intriguing contest became more likely when British heavyweight Fury relinquished his WBA and WBO belts. In the same 24 hours, Fury’s boxing licence was suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control “pending further investigation into anti-doping and medical issues”, after the 28-year-old admitted he had been taking cocaine to help him deal with depression. Hearn added: “It is now a case of getting the paperwork and the sanctioning in order. Hopefully in a couple of days we will have the official announcement. Basically the deal is done with us and Klitschko, but we’ve had to sort out the US TV issue and now we’re just making sure we know what belts are on the line.” Hearn added: “I just want to make sure all the boxes are ticked and everything is right before it’s announced. Hopefully at some point this week we’ll give the British public the news they so dearly want.” Hearn also wants to entice former world heavyweight champion David Haye into a contest with world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew, who demolished B J Flores in Liverpool on Saturday night in a brutal first defence of the WBC 200lb crown, flooring the American four times before finishing the chall
