Franchise mode has always been my bread and butter, dating back as long as I can remember. This year however, is going to be even better. This year I am doing 2, count them 2 Franchise Modes!!! The first one is going to be this series, the Buffalo Bills, and the second one will come when the Week 1 rosters come out, being the Arizona Cardinals. I chose these two teams for the exact opposite reasons, so I think my two Franchise modes will be able to cater to everyone, as I go down the road with two franchises who have never won a Superbowl, and try to change things. The Bills are trending upward, while the Cardinals are about to flatline, and here is why. The Buffalo Bills are in the AFC East, which has been the Patriots yard ever since Tom Brady took over. As Brady reaches the end of his career, a glimmer of hope appears for a team desperate to break through the lull of not making the playoffs in 15 years (1999), and not even posting a winning record since the 2004 season (9-7). This team is built around quick offensive targets, and a relentless front 7, specifically their pass rush. With breakout stud Kiko Alonso (who will be out for year 1 of my franchise to match real life) at the center, along with Mario and Kyle Williams, Marcell Dareus and even Jerry Hughes on the pass rush, this team had one of the fiercest assaults on the QB in the league. Losing Jarius Byrd hurts, but adding Brandon Spikes at MLB helps them out even further. This team is interesting, with a 2 headed rushing attack of Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller, along with mobile but injury prone EJ Manuel at the helm, the Bills are still in an odd place in the AFC. Defensively, they may be the 3rd best team, and offensively only behind NE, but they remain in limbo. However, after drafting Sammy Watkins (trading away this and next year’s 1st round pick to CLE, another reason they work for me), the Bills traded Stevie Johnson, the cornerstone WR for the organization the past few years. With speedster Marquise Goodwin, Robert Woods, Watkins, and Scott Chandler, this team will be extremely fun to use, but still a challenge. Things will get interesting when Brady retires, and without Kiko for year one, who knows what could happen. Regardless, I hope you guys enjoy this franchise mode and my Cardinals franchise mode as we continue down the road to 50k!!!
