USAF Thunderbirds Part 1
Watch as the 2000 United States Air Force Thunderbirds Jet Demonstration Team perform their standard aerial and tactical team demonstration over Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona on Sunday, April 9, 2000. Members of the team include Commander, LT Colonel John "JV" Venable Thunderbird 1, Captain Richard H. Boutwell at Left Wing Thunderbird 2, Major Jonathan Greene at Right Wing Thunderbird 3, and flying the Slot position, Thunderbird 4 is Major Scott Bowen. Thunderbird 5, Lead Solo is flown by Major Dean "Wilbur" Wright, and Thunderbird 6, Opposing solo is piloted by Major Kevin Mastin. Part 1 features pre-flight, taxi, Diamond Takeoff, Opposing and Lead solo takeoffs, Diamond pass, Opposing Knife edge pass, Diamond trail formation and transition back into the diamond, opposing and lead solo inverted passes, Diamond pass in review, Opposing solo Knife edge pass, Lead solo slow roll, the Diamond Roll, Opposing solo eight point roll, Lead Solo Maximum performance roll, and Diamond Arrowhead Loop.
