Welcome back to event planning blueprint.com, my name is Melanie and I’m your host. Today we’re going to be talking about how to start an event planning blog or newsletter – even if you’ve never written anything before! Why do you need an event planning blog? It positions you as a leader in the industry and allows your clients to get to know you better. It’s a great tool that allows you to reach an audience rather than reaching out one on one – so it saves you a lot of time. It’s also a marketing tool for your business; it strengthens relationships with your customers and helps you differentiate your business from your competitors. Here’s a tip - Google loves when you have regular, new content on your website. But make sure the content is well written and grammatically correct. So if that means hiring a proofreader, then you can find an inexpensive one on upwork.com Here are 3 tricks to get you started today… How do you start an event planning blog? 1. Write out the top 10 problems or obstacles that your clients experience. For example, what are the top 10 struggles you hear over and over again from your clients? Take each of these 10 issues and provide a solution to each one so you help solve their problems. This not only helps your current clients, but it’s a great way to market your services to future clients. You can also show your audience some behind the scenes tips or tricks to help them get to know you better. People love this! 2. Schedule your posts and be consistent. I can’t stress this enough. Choose a day of the week or month and stick to it. I post new articles each Wednesday, but you may decide that once a month works for you. So, whether you choose the 15th or the 30th of each month be consistent. The more you post the better, but minimum amount to post is once per month! 3. Use videos or graphics or photos to help maximize your posts and keep your readers on your page longer. Google loves this! I’d love to hear from you. In the comments below, let me know 10 struggles your clients’ experience and leave as much detail as you’d like. . I’d love to hear from you.
