Task 1 : A Letter Task 2: An Essay. Let us understand what an informal letter is, and how you should write it. Basic details that you should know. 1. You need not write any addresses. 2. Know the purpose of writing the letter. 3. Address the other person proper;y. 4. The structure has to be cohesive. 5. You need not write any information which is not related to the given topic. 6. Use a wide range of vocabulary. 7. Write at least 150 words. To be on the safer side, you should aim for a word count between 180 and 200. 8. Cover all the bullet points in your letter. 9. Use a wide range of sentence structures, like a. Simple sentences b. Compound sentences c. Complex sentences d. Complex - compound sentences e. Conditional sentences f. Passive sentences 10. Do not use word contractions while writing a formal letter. 11. You must use contractions while writing an informal letter. 12. Remember to use the same tense as seen in the question prompt. 13. Practice is the key to succeed in the IELTS test. 14. Never skip the conclusion. It is very essential to write a conclusion. 14. Use the right cohesive linkers.
