IELTS Map and Process Task 1 Questions: Vocabulary Danger!
Don’t fall into this IELTS vocabulary trap on IELTS Writing Task 1 Map and Process questions! For more information about the IELTS Writing exam, check out www.ielts.allearsenglish.com. Did you know what the examiner bases your vocabulary score on? It is based on YOUR vocabulary. Surprise! What that means is, you cannot copy the labels and headings that are provided in the IELTS Task 1 Map and Process questions. This is tough, because there are so many words given to you in these questions, so many students just use those words in their essays. This can drop your vocabulary score to below 6! The examiner looks for your ability to paraphrase, or use your own words to express what you are seeing in the IELTS Task 1 Map or Process questions. Watch this video, and write down the paraphrases that are given for a common process word (make), and a common map word (houses). Remember, your paraphrases for the IELTS Map and Process questions do not all have to be high level, they just must be yours! Please visit www.ielts.allearsenglish.com for more IELTS tips and tricks!
