How to make your own DIY personalised bunting (pennant) HD
This is a tutorial which shows you how to make your own personalised bunting (aka personalized pennants.) You can read more about it and access FREE TEMPLATES via this blog post : http://maybushstudio.com/2015/04/29/how-to-make-personalised-bunting/ For this project you will need : Heat & Bond light (aka Bond A Web) Enough fabric for front and back of your bunting flags (varies depending on how many letters in the name) Felt in a colour of your choice for letters (felt is used as it does not fray) Pen & Pencil Letter and flag template (download for free from my blog http://maybushstudio.com/2015/04/29/how-to-make-personalised-bunting/) Scissors (I have one pair for paper and one for fabric) Bunting tape (look for "cotton twill tape" on eBay. The wider it is the easier it is to attach) Iron & Ironing board Cotton thread Sewing machine (1) Use the template (which I back with card) to draw out the bunting flag shapes on your fabric and cut them out (2) Trace round the letter templates with your Heat N Bond (3) Cut out the letters (4) Iron the Heat N Bond letters on to the felt (5) Cut out the felt letters (6) Peel off the paper backing of the letters (7) Iron the felt letters on to your bunting flags (8) Place the bunting flags right sides together and sew along two sides (9) Turn the flags the right way out and press (10) Lay your flags on the floor and work out how much bunting tape you will need (11) Cut your length of bunting tape and using the iron press it in half along the width (12) Tuck the flags inside the folded bunting tape and pin them together (13) Sew along the length of the bunting tape with a straight stitch removing the pins as you go (14) Finished!
