VISIT NICARAGUA: https://www.instagram.com/visitanicaragua CARLOS: https://www.instagram.com/carlostapiapineda MY TRAVEL/FOOD BLOG: https://davidsbeenhere.com/ During my time in Granada, Nicaragua, I wanted to do something fun and unplanned, so I headed out to explore the city via carriage…all while wearing a skull mask! Come with me on my carriage tour of Granada, Nicaragua! I headed out in the mask, which scared a couple of people, including the concierge in my hotel! The only thing is, I couldn’t see anything out of it! DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH: https://teespring.com/stores/davids-been-here As the chariot driver took off, I learned a little bit about my friend and guide, Carlos. He was born in Managua, and our driver was born here in Granada. He was 26 years old, so I was ten years older than him! We passed the oldest house in the city. It was the home of a famous man named William Walker in 1856. There are beautiful gardens inside, and it’s now used as a venue for parties and weddings. We continued on through Pedro Joaquin Guardia Chamoro Plaza, which is named after the owner of the press. Then, we passed the Park of Galteba and the Monument of Ruben Dario, the most famous poet in Nicaragua. Next, in the Xalteva area, we passed Calteba Church, which dates back to 1731. I could see statues of four saints: St. Juan, St. Luca, St. Matteo, and St. Marco. We got off there and walked through the park and then got back on. It cost 350 Cordoba, or about $10 USD. We got off at a salon where I could get a manicure and pedicure! And that’s my carriage tour of Granada, Nicaragua! Where have you been?
