This little thing is pretty much the little brother of the WLtoys 12428 rock climber. Most of the details are identical - except the scale of course. What I like on this car: - How it looks and feels - Metal CVD driveshafts on the front axle - Metal joints on the rear prop shaft - Metal central driveshaft - Aluminum bracing on the front hinge pins - Aluminium skid plate - Not too much backlash in the steering - Good servo saver mechanism - An A959 2S 7.4V, 1100mAh LiPo fits inside the battery compartment What not: - Too much dead zone around the steering center position (can be improved with an A979-B transmitter) - Not enough suspension travel in the front - Saggy rear suspension (spring preload spacers are available on my Thingiverse) - Proprietary 4 pin battery plug (can be modified) - The spare tire All in all it’s great little car. It is relatively small and ideal for indoor use. Driving it on parquet is much fun. Unfortunately I punched it a bit too hard during the first indoor test drive or it did not like my attempt to improve the watertightness of the receiver / ESC… Maybe it was just bad luck. But if you know me, you know that I like to be honest with you. So of course I tell you the truth. Fortunately, I had the following stuff lying around and so I decided to to a crazy fast brushless conversion: - Racestar 2435 brushless motor with 4500kV - Racerstar 25A brushless ESC - 17g metal gear servo - And of course one of my „Micro RC“ 2.4GHz Arduino open source receivers (details see GitHub link below) The result is insane! But this will be part of the next video. So stay tuned!
