Wanhao Duplicator i3 with all the recommended mods - with new additions and replace some mods HD
The printer at first when stock, it was already quite good but after all the mods, the printer is went from good to awesome. Printings can can easily match machine that cost much much more. And it is a lot quieter than stock. Now it is even more quiet. Mods done: 1) Z-axis brace and Y brace 2) Microswiss all metal hotend 3) B3 innovation heater cartridge 4) X axis using 2x LM8LUU bearing with the one of the bearing block cut to clear the belt and blueprint the printer. 5) Y axis carriage bottom plate change to 2.5mm thicker plate, add a 3mm borosilicate glass and using buildtak with printed m3 thumb screw. 6) Y axis change to 3x igus bearing 7) Y axis belt re align straighter, and add zip tie to lock one of the belt holder. 8) All belt tensioner removed and belt re-tensioned 9) Adjustable z axis endstop bracket. 10) Extruder gear change to the one from Duplicator 4 11) Change stock 3mm nozzle fan to the DiiCooler Shroud using 50mm blower 12) Printed an LCD angle faceplate for the control box with reset button 13) Printed a 1x 60mm fan blackplate to replace the stock 1 x 40mm fan backplate 14) APC 650VA UPS just in case of power outage 15) LED light strip at the top of tower 16) LED light strip at the extruder (modded to be longer to shine more light to the back of nozzle 17) Extruder mod to use flexible filaments like ninjaflex 18) New filament guide with dust filter (use the ptfe hotend metal tube as a guide) 19) Cobra Fan Shroud 20) Added a voltmeter to see the voltage of the controller power supply 21) Up the voltage to 13v, extruder and heat bed heat up faster. 22) Added a heat insulating foam between the heatbed and lower carriage plate. Significant improvement in heating time. 23) Added thicker foam to the lower z-brace front and rear leg
