In Rehearsal, “Considering Matthew Shepard” at Montclair State University HD
Listen as the MSU Singers and MSU Chorale rehearse “Considering Matthew Shepard,” the genre-blending musical response to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a student at the University of Wyoming in Laramie who was kidnapped, severely beaten, tied to a fence and left to die for being gay. As Professor Heather Buchanan at Montclair State’s Cali School of Music conducts an especially poignant selection from the memorial, she reminds the students of the redemptive power of love and gratitude. Montclair State University will present regional premiere performances on Sunday, December 8.
