Post-Ramadan Renewal: 5 Lessons to Live By - Shaykh Faraz Rabbani HD

On the eve of Eid, Shaykh Faraz Rabbani shares some key advice to from the sunna of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on how to keep the spirit of renewal post-Ramadan. He highlights five lessons to live by from the encompassing hadith narrarated in Bukhari: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ لَنْ يُنَجِّيَ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ عَمَلُهُ ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالُوا وَلاَ أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏"‏ وَلاَ أَنَا، إِلاَّ أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ، سَدِّدُوا وَقَارِبُوا، وَاغْدُوا وَرُوحُوا، وَشَىْءٌ مِنَ الدُّلْجَةِ‏.‏ وَالْقَصْدَ الْقَصْدَ تَبْلُغُوا ‏"‏‏ The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you will attain salvation by their actions. So they asked: "Not even you oh Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Not even I, unless Allah envelopes me in mercy. Remain committed, do your best in the early mornings and the end of the day, and something of the depths of the night. Remain purposeful, remain purposeful and you shall reach." The highlighted lessons he highlighted are: 1. Be reliant only on Allah Most High, 2. remain committed, 3. do the best you can, 4. do something of the good to draw closer to Allah in the beginning of the day, the end of the day, and in the depths of the night, and 5. remain balanced in seeking and purpose.
