Lions Club Balloon Festival 2008 - Part 1
The Lions Club Balloon Festival and Fair is held in Highland Village Texas, the third weekend in August every year. The festival includes hot air balloons, live music, arts and crafts exhibits, rides & games, a car bash, bounce houses, climbing wall, food & drink including beer and wine. It begins at 5pm on Friday and runs through noon on Sunday. Get up early and enjoy a pancake breakfast from 6am-9am while watching the Balloons take off or fly in from up wind. Meet the pilots and their crew on the field. Feel the heat as the Balloon inflates! This is one of the only balloon festivals where patrons can actually get up close. Admission is free. Parking is a $5 donation per car. All proceeds go to Lions Club charities and local community groups. Lions are a group of hard working, dedicated volunteers with a passion for those in need and a special focus on sight related issues.
