Jenkin Lakes and Forest Hike in Co. Fermanagh, N. Ireland, March 2022 HD

01.04.2022
Another local walk on a chilly morning in March. Jenkin Lakes are in the eastern part of Fermanagh, bordering Tyrone and Monaghan. It took me only 20 minutes to get there and by 8.30 I was off. Sadly, I was on my own today, as Andrea was on granny duties but it meant I was able to explore freely and I also seemed to talk a lot more into the camera!! On this walk, I encountered a herd of wild deer, and a lot of birdlife, but I also enjoyed visiting a number of lakes, a trig point, and good paths. No scrambling today but definitely a great day of walking and exploring. I also bumped into someone I knew and spent 45 minutes having a chat. I summary, Jenkin Lakes has good paths, you can do a short loop, a big loop, or as I did, both loops. The signage is very good and it would be hard to get lost. It was a better walk than I had expected and well worth the effort. As promised, here is the link to the walk on the Walkni website https://walkni.com/walks/jenkin-forest-and-lakes/ #Jenkin Lakes #fermanagh #deer
