The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R has been launched in India today. The Wagon R was one of the most awaited launches by Maruti and has been one its best selling models as well. It was first launched in India back in 1999 and has since received four upgrades. The new one is the first all-new Wagon R in five years. The prices of the 2019 Wagon R start from Rs 4.19 lakh ex-showroom Delhi and is available in three core variants: Lxi, Vxi and Zxi, and two engine options. The Wagon R is available with the choice of 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol engines. The 1.0-litre engine is available with the Lxi and Vxi variants only whereas the 1.2-litre engine is available with Vxi and Zxi variants. Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual but a 5-speed AMT gearbox is an option as well. But it is available with the Vxi and Zxi variants only and with both powertrains Inside, the Wagon R features a new SmartPlay Studio infotainment system which doesn’t get Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. It does however come with steering-mounted controls and an analogue-digital instrument cluster. In terms of safety, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX mounts are offered as standard.
