"Grand Canyon Escalade" proposed development site on rim of Grand Canyon HD
A spectacular, beautiful site, sacred to local Native American tribes, is being fast-tracked by a Phoenix developer, Confluence "partners" LLC. RV parks, Hotels, golf, shops, infrastructure, power and paved roads, would all change the nature of the Little Colorado confluence with the Colorado River, on the remote, unspoiled, pristine and surreal East Rim of the Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA. The rim of the Canyon in this area is on Navajo Tribal Land, and this "developer" is strong-arming Tribal and local Chapter governments into accepting the proposal to industrialize this seldom visited and isolated portion of Grand Canyon. They are pitting family aginst family, neighbor aginst neighbor, in promise of minumum wage tourist jobs that the "locals" would have to drive 100 miles round trip to get to. As Teddy Roosevelt once said "The ages have been at work on it. Leave it alone. We can not improve upon it".
