I’m Anna! And this is the “English fluency journey” In this video I’m going to be talking about conversations! Because being able to start a conversation in English, knowing how to keep it going and of course having something to say this is crucial for a successful communication, right?! Here are the links to the videos about conversations that I really like! The Accents Way with Hadar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xQv_73acso https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhrBMjmjSnM TEDxTalks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6n3iNh4XLI&t=38s JamesESL English Lessons (engVid) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBEpjL_J7OU Improvement Pill https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHeFWHpmHSM Charisma on Command https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXiAPiw7vfc of course to be able to talk at least about something you have to have a good vocabulary, but what I’ve experienced and widely felt that it’s not enough! If you want to maintain a conversation about a specific topic you have to be ready for this you have to be prepared! So if you’re planning to ask questions about traveling or cooking or even about the weather read something about this, watch videos or listen to some podcasts. And what I started doing is learning by heart expressions, sentences and even the whole paragraphs about topics that I wanted to talk about or to ask about. And especially if I know who I’m gonna talk to. Lets say if I went to the party and I knew that my friend’s new girlfriend would be there and she works at a restaurant as a Chef I would find out all the information I could all expressions and vocabulary connected with that so that I could talk to her about her profession and could understand her perfectly. Or maybe you have some outside interests. I like photography for example. And if someone asked me about it I would like to be able to answer and tell something. And it’s only reasonable having read and watched about it in English, be prepared. Right? And why I’m saying to learn information by heart, it’s not because you have to give it out quickly answering a question like you’re at an exam. It’s because when you know it , when you’ve memorized it, it somehow pops up in your mind when you need it, your mouth pronounces the exact needed words or sentences. And it’s not going to be word for word. It’s gonna be about the same words. And you’re gonna feel a lot more confident knowing that you have something to say, that you’re prepared. And all those pieces of information you’re gonna learn will help you in your future conversations. This method that I’ve found for myself I gotta say very useful well yeah it’s not for everybody. Not everyone wants and has time to learn something. But I can tell you why I started to use it. Because my memory was quite bad. I was forgetting things very q
