I think about it a lot. I’ve been on both sides of charity in my life. I love the feeling I get when I’m able to help someone in need. A random act of kindness fills me with happy and makes everything better. Having also faced desperate times; I know how stress and worry can hurt a person. Physical pain, constant discomfort, and debilitating anxiety take their toll. One small act, one tiny gesture by a Good Samaritan could make a world of difference. We’ve all heard stories about “Paying it Forward” at one time or another. Picking up the tab for the guy behind you at the coffee shop, helping the lady in front of you at the checkout line who’s a few dollars short. How far does it travel? Is it like The Butterfly Effect? Could one good deed in Seattle make it all the way to Miami? I like to think that it can! We live in a day and age where the internet can make anything possible. What if you could track your good deed and see how far it goes? The Good Karma Tracker would be just that catalyst. Track your good deeds online and see how far they go! We will assign you a Good Karma ID number. You do a good deed, random act of kindness, gesture of good will and remember to pass out your Good Karma number to those you help. Explain to them that one good deed deserves another and keep the chain going. Watch your “Good Karma” spread all with a little card or stamp. This Kickstarter campaign is to get the Good Karma Tracker up and running. A website that will allow the kind people of the world see how the impact of one good deed can travel far and wide. Patrons will be awarded for their contributions and be considered the backbone of something good for the entire planet. I have put a lot of time and thought into these rewards and think that they’re pretty amazing! The world is never without the need for good karma. Where did the roots for this brainstorm come from you wonder? Some time ago, I saw a man in the Florida rain. Now, if you’ve never been here…when it rains, the sky literally opens and pours out. This man was waiting for his bus, in the rain, with no umbrella. He was soaked. With no more than a few seconds of witnessing this something just came over me and I was out the door with an umbrella in my hand to give to this stranger. He looked at me puzzled for only a moment. He opened his hand and as he took the umbrella from mine simply said “Good Karma be yours” and smiled. I knew right then that he’d be the person to turn around and pass that umbrella to another in need down the road. That experience has resonated with me . So much so that putting together this campaign is one of my highest priorities. Be a hero, be a life saver, be a better afternoon, be a sigh of relief, be an umbrella for someone. See if they pass it on.
