Waterproof, Dustproof and Truly Wireless: xFyro xS2 Bluetooth Earbuds HD
Looking for some nice quality Bluetooth earbuds that are waterproof and dustproof and won’t break the bank? The attractively designed xFyro xS2 Bluetooth earbuds have an iP67 rating, the same level of waterproofing as the iPhone XR, and they come with a charging case which doubles as a power bank. The charging case is made from nicely finished aluminum and has a high end appearance. Once charged, it can recharge the xS2 earbuds around 5 times. Additionally, you can use the carrying case as a small power bank and charge phones and similar devices with it. However, at only 850 mAh, it is not very powerful. And, perhaps due to the minimalistic design, there are no display lights to let you know how much power you have remaining in the powerbank—you can only tell that you have some, or none. Inside the charging case, the earbuds are nested magnetically for charging and storage. They take about 2 hours to charge, and will last around 3 to 4 hours of continuous music and talk use, depending on volume level. They should work with any phone with bluetooth capability—my review sample worked fine with both my iPhone Xs Max and Galaxy Note8. Pairing is a little odd, but not bad once you get used to it. You have to pair your primary earbud first, by holding down the multifunction button for 4 seconds until it flashes red and blue, then once that one is paired, you have to pair the other earbud with the first one by holding down its multifunction button for 2 seconds (but not 4!) until the two earbuds flash a happy blue color. If you hold the second earbud’s button down too long, to the 4 second mark, then it will start trying to pair with your phone, rather than the primary earbud and you will have to start the whole thing over. The xS2 comes with three sizes of ear tips, so you can choose the ones with the best fit for your ears. The earbuds are relatively small, and don’t have a huge footprint on the ear, but the black color does make them stand out a bit if you have a lighter complexion. As far as sound quality, they sound quite good to me overall, with a good balance between bass and treble, but there is a very slight background hiss. This is certainly not noticeable enough to detract from music listening enjoyment, however. Noise isolation is quite good, as long as you have the earbuds properly positioned in your ears, and should work well for noisy environments such as the gym. Due to their noise isolating design, I wouldn’t recommend wearing them while walking or running or biking on busy streets, however. In addition, you can also use the xS2 to take calls, as there is also microphone functionality included. For whatever reason, call audio only comes through on one earbud, and audio quality is so so. Callers reported that I sounded a bit faint, but they could basically hear me OK. Overall, I would say that the call functionality of the xS2 earbuds is acceptable, but not as good as its music performance. So, if they are waterproof, can yo
