Downunder Acoustic Cover - Men At Work - Colin Hay

04.10.2009
Here is an acoustic cover of Downunder (or sometimes called Land Down Under) originally by Men at Work but this version is based on the acoustic version that Colin Hay does live. This cover is being performed by the acoustic covers duo "Handsome Alvin" a Brisbane Australia based acoustic covers duo. We have only performed this song a few times before and we did this at the end of the recording session (when the lighting was getting bad) in a single take so it is pretty rough but it was a fun take so we decided to keep it. Lyrics: Intro (0:05) Verse 1 (0:15) Travelling in a fried out kombie On a hippy trail head full of zombie I met a strange lady, she made me nervous She took me in and gave me breakfast, and she said Chorus 1 (0:34) Do you come from a land down under Where women glow and men plunder? Cant ya hear can ya hear the thunder You better run, you better take cover Verse 2 (1:03) Buying bread from a man in Brussels, He was six foot four and full of muscles I said do you speak my language? He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich, and he said Chorus 2 (1:23) i come from a land down under, Where beer does flow and men chunder Cant you hear cant you hear the thunder? You better run you better take cover Verse 3 (2:02) Lying in a den in Bombay, With a slackjaw and not much to say. I said to the man "Are you trying to tempt me?
