SHADOWSELFDEFENCE. ATTACK 2. Speed & Luck.

06.03.2010
This video shows two knife attacks. Both clips highlight the speed at which a knife attack can become lethal. In the first clip, the victim in the white shirt sustains knife blows to his throat and chest but is unharmed and fights off his attacker. He is very lucky. In the second clip, the victim is struck with a lethal blow immediately during an exchange and dies shortly after. The main difference between the two outcomes is luck. When un-armed and facing a knife attack, you have seconds to live, maybe less than five. Escape must be your priority, if you cannot escape, you must stop your attacker immediately. Your life depends on you doing this in a matter of seconds. 99.9% of unarmed knife defence techniques you will see, would be useless in a real-life situation. Quick desicion making, swift feet and a knockout punch in both hands are the only preparations you can make for such an attack in reality. In reality, challenging a knife when un-armed is incredibly risky, even for the most experienced. Escape is ALWAYS the priority in such a situation. Otherwise, you may only get one shot. Make sure it counts.
