Pirelli Enduro Scorpion Tyre Review! HD
In today’s video, I’m going to be reviewing the Pirelli Scorpion Enduro S and R tyres. In the efforts of full disclosure, I was not paid to endorse these tyres or any others. I was sent this pair of Pirelli tyres for evaluation by FE Sports, the distributor in Australia and in no way was I encouraged to sway my thoughts and feelings. With that said, it’s back to our regular content! The Pirelli Scorpion Enduro S has the most aggressive tread pattern out of all of the tyres in their offering, while the R has smaller centre knobs that roll quickly while still providing a great braking surface. I think I should explain what the differences are between the Scorpion Enduro range. S stands for Soft terrain, M for medium, H for Hard and R for Rear specific. Rather than going for a collection of tyres designed around the conditions you’ll be riding, Pirelli opted to instead make a series of tyres made for the different types of terrain. Having said that, I have had the Enduro S hold up remarkably well across the range of loose and thick dusty conditions, moist and almost muddy dirt, hero dirt and all the way through to huge granite slabs! The Enduro R holds up just as well, and also has a great rolling speed. Because of the aggressive tread pattern on the Enduro S, combined with the pattern of the Enduro R, braking is not a problem! A short stab of the brakes is usually more than enough to bleed off most of your speed and feathering definitely puts you at the speed you’re most comfortable with for your oncoming challenge. Inflating the tyres was an absolute breeze! No high-volume pump or air compressor required; a standard floor pump had these seated in no time! This did give me a pause for concern, as I considered if that would mean the bead wouldn’t hold correctly… No worries necessary however! Everything I could throw at them still hasn’t caused me to burp or deflate the tyre. I should mention the weights here, because Weight Weenies will want to know. The Scorpion Enduro S 29x2.4 60TPI weighed in at 1.135 Kilograms or 2.5 pounds. Mind you, that’s still with the plastic card and zip-tie still attached, so think slightly less! The Scorpion Enduro R 29x2.4 60TPI weighed in at 1.091 Kilograms or 2.4 pounds with card and zip-tie attached. Nine months after first putting them on the bike, there’s no discernible wear to the tyre or to the knobs. That is definitely a big tick in the durability box, because we all know how annoying it is to constantly have to change tyres as you wear them out! To wrap it up I’d have to say that I’m super thrilled with the Pirelli tyres! The grip is astounding no matter what and where you ride, the durability is A+ and the ease of which they seated when setting up tubeless was amazing! I give these the MtnBikeGeek tick of approval without hesitation! If you’re in the market for a new set of tyres and want to try something different, I highly recommend checking out the Pirelli Scorpion Enduro tyre range! A huge thank
