The Westside Dance Program is entering its 9th year, under the direction of Sharon Roberts and Rodrigo Leal. Students in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to study dance as part of their academic program fulfilling fine art, physical education or elective credit. Courses are structured from NDEO and TEA dance curriculum guidelines. INERTIA Dance Company The elite performing ensemble representing the Westside Dance Program. This group is nationally recognized with 16 national titles from competition, performances in New York City, Chicago, New Orleans, Miami, features in People Magazine, Dance Teacher and Southern Living as well as appearances on CBS Early Show, The Tony Danza Show, and local affiliates for Fox, ABC, CBS, and NBC. INERTIA have been featured half-time performers for the NBA San Antonio Spurs and WNBA Houston Comets. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
