PHRYGIAN MODE Guitar Backing Track HD
This chill-electronica guitar backing track is meant to be used with the exotic-sounding PHRYGIAN improvisation mode. Remember, modes are the same scale, just starting on a progressively higher note. Why they sound different is in their setting, and the harmony behind the mode or solo using the mode. Quick and dirty: use the C Major scale, but start (and resolve to) E. A littel more depth: the chords are simply Em, F and G. You will therefore understand that we are, generally speaking, in C Major. However, by using the PHRYGIAN Mode you get a very cool, almost Spanish sound to the notes. Remember, it is the same as C major, but it sounds very different than that happy major sound because of the setting the notes are in. Remember to try to start and finish from the E note. Enjoy!
