patreon.com/zermelo Modes give you different flavors and emotions to experiment with when composing. People are often intimidated by modes but I hoped to take away the scariness by showing how simple it is to derive all the modes: you just play the notes of the major scale starting on different notes. Since there are 7 notes of the major scale, there are 7 modes: 1. Ionian - the major scale 2. Dorian - a minor mode, the special note is the natural 6 3. Phrygian - a minor mode, the special note is the flat 2 4. Lydian - a major mode, the special note is the sharp 4 5. Mixolydian - a major mode, the special note is the flat 7 6. Aeolian - a minor mode, the special note is the flat 6 7.
