With Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Black Panther gone, Hawkeye becoming Ronin, and Wanda losing her grip on reality, the future of the team has never been so jeopardized. But not to worry my friends. Some of our favourite heroes might not come back to the MCU, but a new team is on the horizon. This where the Young Avengers will appear to save the day. While characters like Captain America or Spider-Man both have a long history in the Marvel comics, the characters created for the Young Avengers are quite recent. The first Young Avengers comic book was only published in 2005, making Wiccan, Speed, Iron Heart, or even Miss America heroes of our time. While I truly loved the first 3 phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the fight against Thanos wrapped up perfectly the end of an era of superheroes. The Young Avengers, who will appear throughout a few series and films before having their own individual stories, will come to enrich the MCU both in terms of BIPOC and LGBTQA+ representation, bringing a fresh new take on the superhero genre.
