WEDLOCK OF THE GODS is a pure African tragic story of ritual death and mourning. A story of a young girl who is tied like a goat and wiped along the way to a man she never loved for marriage. Three years into the marriage her supposed husband whom she describes as a slave driver died. Instead of mourning him as custom and tradition demands, she let her former boyfriend in. Taboo is broken and the consequences can not be imagined. WEDLOCK OF THE GODS is one of the most celebrated African plays across the globe now captured in film. This film is a tribute to the first Nigerian playwright and dramatist- Late Prof. Anwazuluwa Onuekwuke Sofola from 1935-95. She is also the fist female African professor of Theater Arts .
